Newcomer Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and ‘Silo’ actress Ida Brooke have officially joined the cast of ‘Dune 3,’ marking the first major casting news for the film in several months.

Representatives for Legendary had no comment on the matter. In the upcoming Warner Bros. and Legendary feature, Momoa and Brooke will portray Leto II and Ghanima, the twin children of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and Chani (Zendaya), who are born following the events of Frank Herbert’s original ‘Dune’ novel.

Denis Villeneuve’s third franchise installment will film will be Nakoa-Wolf Momoa’s first on-screen appearance. He is expected to be joined by his father, Jason Momoa, who is set to return as a resurrected ghola version of Duncan Idaho.

Brooke has previously appeared in Apple TV+’s sci-fi series ‘Silo’ and the film ‘The Primrose Railway Children.’

Chalamet and Zendaya are among the returning cast members for the next installment, though a full cast list has yet to be officially revealed, even as production nears. Earlier this year, Robert Pattinson was reported to be in talks to play a villainous role in the upcoming sequel.

The ‘Dune’ franchise is a major sci-fi property from Legendary, based on the award-winning book series by Frank Herbert. It has so far produced two successful films: ‘Dune: Part One’ (2021) and ‘Dune: Part Two’ (2024), both directed by Denis Villeneuve. Together, the films grossed $1.12 billion globally and earned a combined 15 Oscar nominations, winning eight, including Best Picture nominations for both entries.

The franchise also includes the Max original prequel series ‘Dune: Prophecy,’ set 10,000 years before Paul Atreides’ rise, which debuted in November and has already been renewed for a second season.

Villeneuve’s upcoming third ‘Dune’ film is expected to be his final and will adapt ‘Dune Messiah,’ Herbert’s sequel novel set 12 years after the events of ‘Dune.’ The story focuses on Paul’s reign as Emperor Muad’Dib and the far-reaching consequences of the Fremen-led jihad. A release date and official title have not yet been announced.
