Disney unveiled a new push into premium theatrical experiences on Thursday at CinemaCon, introducing a format called Infinity Vision.

Developed in partnership with major global exhibitors, Infinity Vision is Disney’s own premium large format (PLF) certification, designed to guarantee a top-tier cinema experience. The standard focuses on cutting-edge presentation: massive screens built for scale, advanced laser projection for sharper and brighter visuals, and fully immersive, high-end audio systems.

At launch, 75 theaters across the United States meet the Infinity Vision standard, with another 300 locations internationally.

The rollout is strategically timed. Audiences will first see the format highlighted during the September re-release of ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ before it takes center stage with the December 18 debut of ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’

The announcement also comes amid growing competition for premium screens.

Industry insiders see Infinity Vision as Disney’s response to ‘Dune: Part Three’ securing IMAX priority over ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’ By creating its own certified large-format ecosystem, Disney ensures its biggest releases still have a premium platform—even when IMAX availability is limited.
