David Fincher’s follow-up to Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ is moving forward, with production slated to begin this summer. The film, produced by Netflix, has added Elizabeth Debicki and Scott Caan to its cast, joining Brad Pitt in the upcoming feature.

While plot details remain tightly under wraps, the story will once again focus on Cliff Booth, the stuntman and double for actor Rick Dalton, first introduced in Tarantino’s 2019 film. This new installment takes place in a later era, though it’s unclear how much, if any, is drawn from Tarantino’s 2021 novel of the same name. The book explored Booth’s past in greater detail, including the mysterious death of his wife.

The project originated from a script written by Tarantino with the intention of directing it himself. However, he ultimately shelved the idea until Brad Pitt encouraged him to let Fincher take the reins. The collaboration was set in motion earlier this year.

“This film is more secretive than ‘Star Wars,’” one insider commented.

There’s no word yet on who Caan and Debicki will portray. Sources suggest the story includes two major characters — one who owns a bar that doubles as a mud wrestling venue, and another who is a trophy wife — though it’s unknown whether Debicki is cast in either of those roles. For Caan, the project marks a reunion with Pitt, his co-star from the ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ trilogy.

Filming is expected to kick off in California this July. Netflix declined to comment on the recent casting news.

Caan, the son of late Hollywood icon James Caan, has primarily worked in television over the past decade, with notable roles in CBS’s long-running ‘Hawaii Five-O’ and Fox’s ‘Alert: Missing Persons Unit.’ His film credits include ‘Varsity Blues,’ ‘Gone in 60 Seconds,’ and the early 2000s ‘Ocean’s’ series.

Debicki, meanwhile, is widely recognized for her portrayal of Princess Diana in Netflix’s acclaimed series ‘The Crown.’ Her film work includes roles in Ti West’s ‘Maxxxine,’ James Gunn’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,’ Guy Ritchie’s ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E,’ and Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet.’
