Netflix has officially canceled the Arnold Schwarzenegger-led series ‘Fubar’ after two seasons.
The action-comedy debuted successfully in 2023, with its first season drawing strong viewership. However, its second season — which premiered on June 12, over two years later — failed to maintain that momentum. While the show briefly appeared in Nielsen’s top 10 streaming originals for the week of June 16, it dropped off the chart just one week later.
The show followed the story of Luke Brunner, a seasoned CIA operative on the brink of retirement. His plans change when he rescues another agent — who turns out to be his daughter. Thrust back into action, Luke must confront a new threat: an old flame turned villain who may destroy the world—or his life—first.
‘Fubar’ featured a star-studded cast including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Monica Barbaro, Milan Carter, Fortune Feimster, Travis Van Winkle, Fabiana Udenio, Aparna Brielle, Guy Burnet, Andy Buckley, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jay Baruchel, Barbara Eve Harris, and Scott Thompson.
The series was created and showrun by Nick Santora, who also served as an executive producer alongside Schwarzenegger, Adam Higgs, Scott Sullivan, Phil Abraham, Amy Pocha, Seth Cohen, and Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell. Season 2 was produced by Skydance Television.
While ‘Fubar’ won’t be returning, Netflix has recently renewed several other scripted series, including ‘Wednesday,’ ‘Untamed,’ ‘Tires,’ ‘Four Seasons,’ ‘Lincoln Lawyer,’ and many more.
