A wave of seasoned television figures claimed their first-ever Emmys on Sunday night during a ceremony that spotlighted the labor of making TV while steering clear of overt political statements.

Among the first-time winners were Seth Rogen, Britt Lower, Cristin Milioti, Noah Wyle, Hannah Einbinder, Katherine LaNasa, and Jeff Hiller. Late-career recognition defined the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, where Rogen’s The Studio and Wyle’s The Pitt both secured top prizes.

Rogen, who had been nominated nine times before, finally earned his first Emmy—winning lead actor in a comedy for playing uncompromising studio chief Matt Remick in his Apple TV+ series The Studio, which he also co-created. Later in the night, the series captured the award for best comedy.
