Warner Bros. is reportedly in final talks to secure ‘Shiver,’ an original sci-fi project with Keanu Reeves set to star and Tim Miller (‘Deadpool’) attached to direct.

The film will be produced by Matthew Vaughn, the visionary behind the ‘Kingsman’ franchise, through his Marv Films banner, alongside Aaron Ryder, whose recent producing credits include ‘All of You’ and ‘Dumb Money.’

The screenplay for ‘Shiver’ comes from Ian Shorr, whose previous work includes Paramount+’s ‘Infinite’ starring Mark Wahlberg and the horror-comedy ‘Office Uprising.’ The project has been described as a blend of ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ — the Tom Cruise time-loop sci-fi — and ‘The Shallows,’ the Blake Lively survival thriller.

While exact plot details remain under wraps, sources say the story follows a down-on-his-luck smuggler caught in a deadly double-cross during a job in the Caribbean. Surrounded by corpses, mercenaries, and circling sharks, he soon discovers he’s trapped in a lethal time loop and must find a way to escape the repeating nightmare.

Tim Miller, a former visual effects expert, made a splash with his directorial debut on ‘Deadpool,’ the blockbuster that turned Ryan Reynolds’ irreverent antihero into a global hit. Miller went on to direct ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ (2019), produced by James Cameron, and created Netflix’s acclaimed animated anthology ‘Love, Death & Robots.’

Keanu Reeves, recently head a supporting role in Ana de Armas-led ‘Ballerina’ — Lionsgate’s ‘John Wick’ spinoff — and ‘Good Fortune,’ an Aziz Ansari-directed comedy, though both underperformed at the box office. Even so, Reeves remains a highly sought-after star, with major projects in development, including ‘BRZRKR’ at Netflix, based on the comic he co-created for Boom! Studios.
