Winona Ryder is continuing her collaboration with Netflix.

The ‘Stranger Things’ actor has officially joined the cast of ‘Wednesday’ for its third season. The role marks a reunion for Ryder with director and executive producer Tim Burton, as well as her ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ co-star Jenna Ortega. Ryder previously worked with Burton on films including ‘Beetlejuice’ and ‘Edward Scissorhands.’

Her appearance in the upcoming season will be a guest-starring role, though details about her character are being kept secret for now.

“I am so happy that Winona has joined us, she fits right into this world,” Burton said in a statement. “And she’s a dear friend. I always feel lucky to work with her.”

Series creators and showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar also shared their excitement, saying, “When it comes to Outcasts, Winona Ryder is the GOAT. Her legendary partnership with Tim Burton has defined some of cinema’s most unforgettable characters. We loved collaborating with her on ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ and couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome her to Nevermore.”

Ryder joins Eva Green, who was previously announced for season three. Green will portray Ophelia, the sister of Morticia Addams.

The second season of ‘Wednesday’ premiered last year and went on to become Netflix’s fifth most-watched English-language series ever. The first season still holds the record as the platform’s most-watched English-language series of all time.
