Lily Collins (‘Emily in Paris’) will portray Audrey Hepburn in an upcoming film centered on the making of the iconic romantic comedy ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s.’

The screenplay will be written by Alena Smith, creator of Apple’s series ‘Dickinson,’ and is based on Sam Wasson’s New York Times bestselling book ‘Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M.: Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the Dawn of the Modern Woman.’

Wasson’s book chronicles the behind-the-scenes story of the classic film, featuring key figures such as writer Truman Capote, costume designer Edith Head, director Blake Edwards and Hepburn herself. It follows the project from pre-production through on-set challenges to its release, which ultimately became a pivotal moment in film, fashion and broader culture.

The project is being developed by Imagine Entertainment and Collins’ production banner, Case Study Films, alongside producer Scott LaStaiti (‘The Accountant 2,’ ‘Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’).

Producers for Imagine include Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody and Justin Wilkes. Collins, Charlie McDowell and Alex Orlovsky will produce for Case Study Films, also working with LaStaiti. Executive producers include Imagine’s Marc Gilbar, Sam Wasson and Brandon Millan for Felix Farmer Productions, as well as Michael Shamberg. Joyce Choi is overseeing development for Imagine.
