‘Avatar’ and Marvel Star Zoe Saldaña Becomes The Highest-Grossing Actor Ever, Overtaking Scarlett Johansson

Zoe Saldaña has claimed the title of the highest-grossing actor in cinematic history, surpassing the long-standing record previously held by Scarlett Johansson.
The milestone comes off the back of Saldaña’s newest release, ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash,’ which has already generated more than $1.23 billion at the global box office. That performance has pushed the cumulative box office total of films featuring Zoe Saldaña to an estimated $16.8 billion.
Scarlett Johansson’s filmography previously topped out around the $16.4 billion mark.
Beyond the latest chapter in the ‘Avatar’ franchise, Saldaña’s box office dominance has been shaped by a long list of blockbuster appearances. Her works includes major roles across franchises such as ‘Star Trek,’ Marvel projects including James Gunn’s ‘Guardians of The Galaxy’ and the Russo Brothers’ ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ and *Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.’
Saldaña has earned significant critical acclaim elsewhere, including an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for ‘Emilia Pérez’ in 2025.
