Netflix is moving forward with a third ‘Enola Holmes’ movie, continuing the popular film series inspired by Nancy Springer's beloved books.

Millie Bobby Brown will reprise her role as Enola Holmes, the spirited younger sister of legendary detective Sherlock Holmes. Also returning are Henry Cavill as Sherlock and Helena Bonham Carter as the Holmes family matriarch, Eudoria.

Fans can also expect to see Louis Partridge back as Tewkesbury, along with Hamish Patel returning in the role of Watson.

Production is already underway in the U.K., with Jack Thorne once again penning the screenplay. The film will be directed by Philip Barantini, both creatives previously working on ‘Adolescence.’

According to Netflix, the story will follow Enola to Malta, where a new case brings her into the heart of a dangerous mystery that challenges both her personal and professional worlds. The official logline teases: "Adventure chases detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide on a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before."

Millie Bobby Brown shared an Instagram post celebrating the continuation of Enola Holmes and production start:

Since debuting in 2020, ‘Enola Holmes’ has become one of Netflix’s most successful original franchises. The sequel, ‘Enola Holmes 2,’ released in 2022, reached the streamer’s top 10 list in over 93 countries.

The new installment further highlights Netflix’s strategy of building on established talent, having launched Brown to stardom with ‘Stranger Things’ and now anchoring her in an original film series.
