Mia Goth is officially set to star alongside Ryan Gosling in ‘Star Wars: Starfighter,’ the upcoming standalone feature directed by Shawn Levy.

Gosling will headline the film, which is expected to enter production this fall in England. Disney has slated its release for May 28, 2027.

Plot specifics are still under wraps, but the story will center on Gosling’s character as he protects a young companion from dangerous adversaries. Goth has been cast as one of the antagonists pursuing them — a role previously linked to Mikey Madison before her deal fell apart over financial disagreements.

‘Starfighter’ is a self-contained narrative set within the ‘Star Wars’ universe but unrelated to the Skywalker Saga. This new chapter is set about five years after the events of 2019’s ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,’ exploring an era of the galaxy not yet depicted on screen.

Goth has gained critical acclaim and a dedicated following through her roles in Ti West’s horror trilogy — ‘X,’ ‘Pearl,’ and ‘MaXXXine,’ where she portrayed characters across various decades, including the 1910s, 1970s, and 1980s.

Up next, she’ll appear in Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ alongside Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi, and she also holds a mysterious role in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey.’
