Charlie Hunnam is reuniting with several of his ‘Sons of Anarchy’ co-stars for a new FX limited series titled Legends, more than a decade after the hit biker drama came to an end. Rather than serving as a traditional continuation of the original series, the project will take a meta approach, with Hunnam and the returning cast members playing fictionalized versions of themselves.

The story begins when the ‘Sons of Anarchy’ cast reunites at a fan convention years after the show’s finale. What starts as a reunion soon takes a darker turn as the boundaries between fiction and reality begin to disappear, leaving the former co-stars facing a genuine threat more dangerous than anything their characters encountered on the original series.

Hunnam will be joined by a number of familiar faces from the FX drama, including Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Kim Coates and Theo Rossi. Additional cast members are expected to be announced as the limited series moves forward.

Hunnam developed Legends alongside Jonathan Groff and will serve as a writer, star and executive producer on the project. Groff will also executive produce alongside Rob Mac, Nicholas Frenkel and Jackie Cohn. FX Productions and 20th Television are producing the series, which is set to air on FX and stream on Hulu.

‘Sons of Anarchy,’ created by Kurt Sutter, originally ran for seven seasons on FX from 2008 to 2014 and followed Jax Teller and the members of the SAMCRO motorcycle club. A premiere date for ‘Legends’ has not yet been announced.
