Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ arrives in theaters in less than a year, and Universal is building anticipation by debuting an extended trailer exclusively at 70mm IMAX screenings.
The film was shot entirely with IMAX cameras, making IMAX 70mm presentations the ideal format to experience Nolan’s newest project.
A nearly six-minute prologue will be shown ahead of IMAX 70mm screenings of the ‘Sinners’ re-release and ‘One Battle After Another’ beginning December 12.
Starting December 19, a shorter preview of ‘The Odyssey’ will accompany all screenings of ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash,’ while the extended IMAX version will continue to play before IMAX showings of James Cameron’s film.
Set for release on July 17, 2026, ‘The Odyssey’ adapts Homer’s legendary epic, following Odysseus, King of Ithaca, as he struggles to return home after the Trojan War.
The star-studded cast features Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Mia Goth, and Elliot Page, among many others.
