First Look at Netflix Series Mystery Inc. Team in ‘Scooby-Doo: Origins’

Netflix has released the first look at its upcoming live-action series ‘Scooby-Doo: Origins,’ revealing the young Mystery Inc. team.
Filming is underway in Atlanta, and the image introduces Mckenna Grace as Daphne, Tanner Hagen as Shaggy, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma and Maxwell Jenkins as Fred. Scooby, the famously nervous and snack-loving Great Dane, is expected to be added through visual effects. Paul Walter Hauser also stars as Scooby-Doo’s owner.
The eight-episode series is described as a modern reimagining of the long-running Scooby-Doo franchise and follows the first case that brings the group together. Set during Shaggy and Daphne’s final summer at camp, the story begins when they get pulled into a mystery involving a lost Great Dane puppy who may have witnessed a supernatural murder.
With the help of local science-minded Velma and mysterious newcomer Freddy, the group sets out to solve a case that turns into a nightmare and threatens to reveal their secrets.
The series is written and showrun by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg, who executive produce with André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner and Adrienne Erickson for Midnight Radio. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Leigh London Redman executive produce for Berlanti Productions, with Toby Haynes executive producing and directing. Warner Bros. Television produces.
