Nicole Kidman Cast in Osgood Perkins Next Horror Feature ‘The Young People’

Nicole Kidman hhas officially joined the cast of Osgood Perkins’ upcoming film ‘The Young People.’ Kidman joins actors Lola Tung and Nico Parker, who were previously announced.

The project features a large ensemble that also includes Brendan Hines, Cush Jumbo, Heather Graham, Johnny Knoxville, Lexi Minetree, Lily Collias, and Tatiana Maslany.

Filming is currently underway in Vancouver. Although most story details remain under wraps, online reports suggest that the movie follows two school friends, with one of them beginning to exhibit increasingly concerning behavior.

Neon is handling the U.S. theatrical release and is also managing international sales at this week’s American Film Market. The film is being co-financed by Neon and Lyrical Media.

‘The Young People’ marks the first project to emerge from Neon’s first-look agreement with Perkins and his Phobos banner. It continues the partnership that produced the hit ‘Longlegs,’ 2024s year’s highest-earning independent release with $75 million domestically, and ‘The Monkey,’ which delivered Neon’s second-largest opening weekend ever. Perkins and Neon are also teaming up on his next film, ‘Keeper,’ set to hit theaters on November 14.

Kidman, a five-time Oscar nominee and winner of the 2024 Venice Film Festival’s Best Actress award for ‘Babygirl,’ recently wrapped production on the Amazon crime series ‘Scarpetta.’ In the horror space, she is best known for the box office success ‘The Others.’
